Just Playing Around [GAPP Project -Britt W]

(Late night Uno games)

As we're coming to the end of our exchange program, my host family and I try to find time to play the American game I brought. So far it has been a hit between my host sister and I, causing us to be a little more competitive and more hysterical. The game I brought was the American culture version of uno. Which includes famous American landmarks to hot dogs eaten on the Forth of July. My host sister had learned the game super quick. In addition, she was excited to get some time to play a card game after a long day's of school. I on the other hand was not excited to have lost so much to my host sister during her first time playing the game. I will have my rematch!

In return I have learned some German games such as Mensch Ärgere Dich Nicht !, this game is not for the faint of heart. This game is like the German version of the Sorry! board game, which means it can be endless fun for such a long period of time. It is quite stressful to the point of some screaming and loud sighs coming from each player. Althought the stressful matches it is loads of fun and an activity for the whole family. But I cannot forget the mean games of Settlers of Catan I have watched. Personally I find Catan a little more labor intensive, so I will stick with Mensch Ärgere Dich Nicht !.

In conclusion my stay here in Germany has been a blast and playing the game was a great detox from our mobile devices. I wish the stay was a tad bit longer, but my experiences here have not been nothing short of amazing. In the mean time I will wait for the next German game night and hope to get my rematch soon.
